The battles between the master & grandmaster players have taken their toll on these players & everyone else, haltng the advance in ranking points. Most of these players have hit the orange brick wall, unable to advance into the top ranking of red (2100+) to join mrjohnson. Only er17 🇰🇿 & leprophete 🇧🇯 have that accolade by défaut, because they achieved it when the competition wasn’t this tough and have not played since the master & grandmaster players came into the ashanti room on mass.
This how has had the effect of relegating all the yellow ranked players from this list except aiyedunseun 🇳🇬. These training sessions have had a suppressive effect on the ranking of all players, with new paradigm of order continuing to be established. Players who did not qualify for the beginners tournament on Wednesday’s are now finding they are welcomed there.
With the addition of aiyedunseun 🇳🇬 , the top ten active players list now has half the players from the giant of Afrika, Nigeria 🇳🇬. For the first time two players from Ghana 🇬🇭, lordcity & roberisco have made it into this list, with roberisco achieving this feat in three days. laladom from Togo 🇹🇬 & kasoniga from Nigeria 🇳🇬 have also moved up the ranks to stake 4th & 5th positions respectively. dsk from Benin 🇧🇯 the first grandmastert player to achieve red status remains in the fray. grandmastert from Antigua & Barbuda 🇦🇬 remains the sole player from outside the Afrikan continent in the list.
This week saw some change in the upper half of the overall rankings for the top ten positions, with the presence of akinking from Nigeria 🇳🇬. For the active ranking list of players, there were some changes in the bottom half. masterfisz & wkc1342?boty from Poland 🇵🇱 got demoted out. With the continued presence of the orange ranked players the threshold for being included in this list continues to increase.
The dominance of Nigerian 🇳🇬 players in the top ten ranking lists continues unabated. Players from other countries, Ghana 🇬🇭 in particular are coming forth and making their presence felt. Yet from what has been witnessed the dominance of the player from the giant of Afrika remains strong. Unless stronger players emerge from these or other countries, Nigeria’s 🇳🇬 dominance is going to be the status quo for a long time. However, no doubt with time master & grandmaster players from the countries missing in action will appear to further shake things up to our delight.
