Thirty-three weeks into the 2nd season of the Individual Online Oware League, the number of participants increased by 1, with the addition of chairman1 from Ghana ๐ฌ๐ญ, to take the tally to 88 players from 30 known countries. The numbers that participated in this weekโs tournament increased by 6 to 24 players.
This week mrjohnson ๐ณ๐ฌ regained the tournament title with a score of 6.5, drawing a game with geotrouvetout ๐ง๐ฏ in the last round. abilohre ๐ฌ๐ญ placed 2nd with 6.0 points, losing to mrjohnson ๐ณ๐ฌ in their 5th round match. In 3rd place is olowolafeabey ๐ณ๐ฌ who placed 3rd with 5.0 points, to complete the top three positions. Congratulations to mrjohnson ๐ณ๐ฌ this weekโs champion ๐๐๐.
olowolafeabey ๐ณ๐ฌ & Issahfuseinji ๐ฌ๐ญplaced 4th & 5th respectively. Well done to everyone else who participated, especially chairman1 ๐ฌ๐ญ for participating for the first time ๐๐๐. Once again a very tight & competitive tournament.
With this result & the Oga Otโa of Nigeria ๐ณ๐ฌ mrjohnson with 171.0 still leads by an increased 21.0 points ahead of the nearest contender abilohre with 150.0 points. With 19 tournaments to go in this 2nd season of the Individual league. It is now impossible for a new player to win the league. However for those already in the tournament there is everything to play for. Absences, network disruptions and upsets, make the title still up for grabs.
Do well to recruit other players to participate in these tournaments, from your countries in order to enhance your individual & nations scores. This will enable us to surpass last seasonโs tally of 112 players. We have surpassed the half way for the number of players, and the half point for the number of tournaments has been surpassed. With 19 tournaments to go, we are 25 players away from breaking the 1st seasons 112 players.
Please take note, the first three positioned players who are International or Full members of The Oware Society before the league ends, will be awarded cash prizes. Therefore If you place in the top 3, and wish to be considered for a cash award, join The Oware Society before the league ends. If donors & sponsorship can be acquired, and we are able to raise enough funds from member subscriptions we will put in place a prize fund for other categories: top placed, female, junior & continental players who have International, Full or Family membership.
